Two Ohio Car Crashes Claim the Lives of Two, Leaves Seven Others Injured

Two separate car crashes occurred in Ohio on Wednesday, July 13, injuring seven and killing two people. The first involving three cars and injuring six people, while the second resulted in two fatalities on Wednesday, July 13 in Clermont County and Franklin County.

Officers responded to a serious crash on Wednesday morning in Columbus at Woodcrest Road and Myers Road on the east side. According to officials, three cars and 6 individuals were involved in the accident. Five people were taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital and one person was transported to Mount Carmel East. The latest report states that all six patients have been upgraded to stable condition.

Later Wednesday afternoon, a deadly car crash happened outside of Goshen, near the intersection of Belfast Road and Woodville Pike. According to Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP), a couple in their 40s was traveling north on Belfast in a 2018 Mazda 3, when the driver failed to yield at a stop sign while turning left onto Woodville. At the same time, a 17-year-old was driving east on Woodville Pike in a 2004 Ford Excursion that collided with the Mazda before both vehicles came to rest off the north side of the road.

According to OSP, despite the fact that they had been wearing seatbelts, both occupants of the Mazda were pronounced dead at the scene by Goshen Township EMS. The 17-year-old was transported to Bethesda North Hospital with minor injuries. OSP Batavia Post is still investigating this tragic incident.
