Speed Likely a Factor in Fatal Car Crash into Apartment Building

fatal car crash

On June 6, 2022, a driver was killed after his car crashed into the front of a multi-family apartment complex. Police officers were called to 6708 Harrison Avenue in Green Township in the late morning, where they were informed by rescue crews that a vehicle had run into the Green Valley Apartment Complex, destroying a stairwell. The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office pronounced the 49-year-old male driver dead at the scene. No one else was injured, but several families from the apartment complex have been displaced by damage caused by the crash.

The Green Township police report that the driver was traveling northbound on Harrison Avenue onto the entrance ramp to Interstate 74 West. The vehicle did not follow the curve, crossed over the exit ramp to Harrison Avenue, and hit a curb. The car and its driver then careened over a guardrail and crashed into the apartment complex building.

Investigators do not know if alcohol or drugs played a part in the crash, but did say that speed was likely a factor.
