Ohio car crash in Cincinnati claims passenger’s life

ohio car crash

Despite their best efforts to stay safe on the road, drivers in Ohio and elsewhere can still become involved in vehicle accidents due to the recklessness and negligence of other drivers. Accidents that occur because of this can cause terrible hardships and losses for those involved. Such seems to be the case in a recent vehicle accident that claimed the life of a passenger.

Accident details

The wreck occurred close to 6 a.m. in the morning of March 6. The crash happened in Cincinnati on Mitchell Avenue, close to the I-75 interchange. Police have identified the alleged at-fault driver as a 79-year-old man who failed to stop at a traffic light.

Due to his failure to stop, the man struck another vehicle carrying a 57-year-old driver and a passenger of unspecified age. The passenger, who shares the same last name as the 57-year-old driver, was declared deceased at the scene, while the driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The 79-year-old alleged at-fault driver reportedly suffered only minor injuries.

Legal recourse for victims

Police mentioned in their report that speed was likely a contributing factor to the wreck, and they have not ruled out alcohol or drug impairment. As such, the injured driver and the surviving family of the deceased passenger may use documented evidence of recklessness or negligence on the part of the alleged at-fault driver in related wrongful death and personal injury claims against him. Affected parties will want to work closely with an experienced personal injury attorney in Ohio to increase their chances of obtaining the most favorable outcome possible.
