We are proud to announce a significant courtroom victory on behalf of one of our small business clients. After more than five years of hard-fought litigation, Attorney Matthew Metzger, Esq. of Wolterman Law Office secured a $22,294,967 jury verdict in Hamilton County, Ohio.
Our client, a local small business, was defrauded by Doug Evans and his large holding company, BEE Holdings LP. What began as a promising business relationship turned into a years-long legal battle after our client discovered clear evidence of fraud and tortious interference with their contractual relationships.
Following extensive pretrial litigation—including the filing and resolution of hundreds of motions—the case went to trial in June 2025. After nearly three weeks of evidence, testimony, and legal arguments, the jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of our client. The award included:
- $7,494,967 in compensatory damages, to cover the financial harm suffered.
- $14,800,000 in punitive damages, reflecting the jury’s strong condemnation of the defendants’ misconduct.
This outcome highlights the importance of advocating for small businesses against fraud and unethical corporate practices. We are incredibly proud of the result and the trust our client placed in us throughout this complex litigation.
