Attorney, Wolterman Law Office
Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, Class Action, Business Litigation
Matthew Metzger is one of Southwest Ohio's most accomplished trial attorneys, representing individuals and families injured in catastrophic accidents as well as companies involved in complex litigation and transactions. His simultaneous emphasis on pragmatic, strategic, and creative thinking consistently leads to exceptional results for his clients. When settlement fails, Matt aggressively pursues his clients' claims through litigation and trial.
In March 2026, Matt secured a $22.5 million verdict against Total Quality Logistics (TQL) in a wrongful death case -- one of the largest jury verdicts in Hamilton County history. The jury found TQL responsible for the death of an employee's newborn after the company refused to allow the high-risk pregnant employee to work from home. In 2025, Matt also obtained a $22.29 million jury verdict in a business fraud case, including $7.5 million in compensatory damages and $14.8 million in punitive damages, following nearly three weeks of trial.
Matt's extensive experience includes catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, class action litigation, and complex business disputes. He has recovered over $50 million for his clients in settlements and judgments. Previously, Matt was an attorney at Keating Muething and Klekamp, a large corporate law firm. He received his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, magna cum laude, and his B.B.A. in Economics from the University of Iowa, with distinction, where he was a varsity scholarship athlete.
