More on What We Do
Wednesday, March 11, 2015

Welcome to the Wolterman Law Office blog! In this monthly blog, we’ll be keeping you updated on all things pertaining to our firm along with other topics we feel you may enjoy reading about. For our first-ever post, we felt it was only appropriate to tell you more about the areas of the law we specialize in. Read on to possibly learn something new or if you’d like to be more informed about the American legal system.

  • Business Law — Whether you have just started a business, you are a family business or you are a nonprofit, there are countless laws that any business has to comply with in the U.S., as well as on the state and local level. Wolterman Law is equipped to help you, whatever your business may be, or however big or small your business is, to navigate those laws. Our team is comprised of local Cincinnatians, who not only know what this city has to offer, but won’t treat you like other law firms, where businesses are a run-of-the-mill client. We want to build a lasting, trusting relationship with you and your business, so that we can assist you during whatever phase your business is going through. Wolterman Law Offices can assist with business formations, business growth, mergers and acquisitions, business succession planning and commercial leasing to ensure your company is successful.

  • Tax Law — With the due date for individual tax returns steadily growing closer and closer, taxes are no doubt on people’s minds this time of year. Our associates at Wolterman Law Offices handle various areas of tax law, so we are able to help individuals, families and businesses during this time (and with taxes during the rest of the year as well!). Ensuring your taxes have been minimized efficiently and cost effectively is a duty the associates at Wolterman Law have completed in years past and will continue to do so for years to come. Don’t let that looming April 15 date give you heartburn in any tax area, as we can assist you with tax controversy (audits and litigations), corporate tax planning, partnership tax planning, interest and penalty abatement and IRS tax liability offers in compromise (workouts).
  • Estate Planning — Though it is a topic many generally do not want to think about, having all of your affairs in order whether you are young or old is important. Drafting a will and then filing it away isn’t how estate planning should be done. At Wolterman Law, we take great pride in all areas of the law we practice, and it is vital to us that our relationship with you is a trusting one, as we take great care to protect your assets. In law, estate planning isn’t solely about drafting a will; this area covers other aspects of personal effects. The Wolterman Law offices can also protect assets from creditors, meet the special needs of family members, take into consideration the tax consequences with charitable gift planning, health care directives, powers of attorney, and, of course, drafting wills and establishing trusts.
  • Real Estate Law — Though we aren’t the realtors selling the home for you, we are there to help make the process of buying or selling a property go smoothly for everyone involved. With paperwork, forms, due diligence requirements and other agreements required in real estate, the process could be long and stressful. Our team can alleviate that stress, as we are there to help you work through tax consequences, purchase agreements, defective titles and other happenstances that occur in the real estate realm. The process of buying or selling a property can vary from being a short span of time to a lengthy amount of time. Regardless of how long it takes, Wolterman Law will be there with you every step of the way, including drafting letters of intent, options to purchase, property taxes, purchase and sales contracts, drafting commercial lease agreements and negotiating terms of a purchase or sale. It doesn’t matter if you’re buying your first home or if you’re delving into the commercial real estate world, we are happy to assist you wherever we are needed.

There you have it, a deeper look at the areas of law the team at Wolterman Law Office practice. Even if you didn’t learn something new and this post was just a memory refresher for you, we hope that you’ll take advantage of the many legal services we offer. With monthly updates on this blog, our hope is that you’ll become personally familiar with our firm and the areas of the law we practice.
