Ohio car crash claims 2nd teen life

Too often, younger drivers do not have the experience necessary to avoid potentially dangers situations they may encounter while driving. When they lose control of the car they are driving, many do not know how to employ evasive maneuvers and other tactics to avoid a crash. Although no one knows exactly what caused a young man to lose control of his vehicle in Ohio recently, the resulting collision claimed the life of his passenger. The driver, too, ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Details regarding accident

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that an accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 4. The crash happened on SR-19 and involved two vehicles. One car, driven by an 18-year-old man, was heading south along the road when it crossed into oncoming lanes of traffic. A vehicle driven by a 34-year-old man was heading in the opposite direction and struck the 18-year-old’s vehicle on the passenger side.

During the crash, the 17-year-old passenger who was riding with the 18-year-old was killed at the scene. The driver was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries, and he lost his battle only a couple of days later. The 34-year-old driver of the other vehicle reportedly suffered only minor injuries and was not transported to a medical center.

Legal recourse for victims

Sadly, a family must mourn the loss of their beloved teenager, and another family is likely reeling with their own loss now. Furthermore, the 34-year-old man is likely still recovering from his injuries. Those adversely affected by this tragedy reserve the right to pursue wrongful death and personal injury claims against the 18-year-old driver’s estate and anyone else who has ownership in his vehicle. An experienced personal injury attorney in Ohio can advise his or her clients of their options and work to help them achieve the most favorable outcome possible.
