Ohio car accident claims life of 1

car accident death

When a family loses a loved one, the following weeks and months can be filled with difficult emotions and questions. For those who lose a family member in a sudden accident, the situation may seem even more devastating because they did not have time to prepare. When a car accident results in a fatality, the family of the victim may wonder what they can do to move forward.

One family in Ohio may be contemplating their future and options after a recent fatal crash. According to reports, the incident involved the following individuals:

  • An 81-year-old man driving east
  • A semi-truck driver heading east
  • A 35-year-old man traveling west

The semi-truck was stopped in the eastbound lane as the driver waited to make a left turn. The 81-year-old driver was approaching the truck from behind and had to swerve to avoid hitting the truck. As that driver swerved, the vehicle went into the westbound lane and collided with the 35-year-old man’s vehicle. That man suffered fatal injuries in the incident and was declared dead at the scene. No other serious injuries resulted.

The family of the man killed in this Ohio car accident was undoubtedly shocked by the sudden loss of their loved one. As they work through the emotional turmoil they certainly face, they may also have to contend with funeral expenses, lost income and other financial difficulties stemming from the incident. If so, they may have reason to file a wrongful death claim against the driver considered at fault for this incident in efforts to seek compensation for damages permitted under state law.
